DESCRIPTION
Comcast's Technical Operations department completes the installation and service work for all of Comcast's world class products - Digital Cable, Comcast High Speed Internet (CHSI) and Comcast Digital Voice (CDV). The Technical Operations department strives to provide superior customer service while getting the job done right the first time.
The Communications Technician position will install and service all Comcast products and will support Comcast's Credo by being the company to look to first for the communications products and services that connect people to what's important in their lives.
This position will also uphold Comcast's core values through the following Touchstones: Ethics, Quality, Flexibility, Diversity, Employee Focus and Enthusiasm.
Finally, and individual selected for this position must embody Comcast's Promise to entertain, inform and empower our customers while enriching our communities.
* Perform disconnects, reconnects, and have demonstrated ability to explain all services offered by Comcast.
* Perform full installations, pre-wire, verification surveys, converter swap or pick-up, reconnect, advance analog installations, and service calls.
* Ability, attitude, motivation and skills will be assessed.
* Demonstrates professionalism, a commitment to standards of excellence and the customer service philosophy of Comcast.
* Will be required to work both indoors and outdoors, may climb ladders and telephone poles.
* Must be able to lift up to 80lbs. and operate necessary hand tools and vehicles as required.
* Installs, reconnects, disconnects, adds and/or troubleshoots service for video, internet, and the Comcast voice services, CDP or Comcast Digital Voice through a switched circuit, VoIP, or digital voice technology in compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC).
* Perform all other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
* Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
* Experience: Highly desired skills are customer relations skills, organizational/project management skills, ability to handle multiple projects and be a strong team player.
* Must have a valid Michigan driver's license and a safe driving record.
* Must be able to fill out necessary forms and work orders and be able to read street maps.
* Ability to work overtime as needed.
* Solid performer or better.
* Punctual, regular and consistent attendance.
* Climb poles and ladders 18 to 20 feet above ground, as determined by the system's requirements
* Lift and carry loads of 70 lbs. or more and work in crawl spaces or attics
* Work while standing 50 - 70% of the time
